Your piano is a complicated mechanical object which will deteriorate over time, having it serviced will help keep it sounding and playing beautifully for years to come. A one-day in-situ service includes the following:
Disassembly of action and keys for thorough cleaning and lubrication
Thorough cleaning of case-work, soundboard and frame
Full regulation of keys and playing mechanism
Tuning to Concert Pitch
Aligning and ‘voicing’ 0f hammers to improve tone
A one day service is recommended for a domestic piano every 5 years or so, for institutional pianos (school/university practice rooms, performance pianos etc.) a yearly service is recommended. I can also provide individual elements of a service i.e. cleaning or regulation only, call me to discuss your needs.
